Ohio River Sweep event on Saturday May 14, 2022 canceled – new date to be determined

The Ohio River Sweep is an annual, volunteer cleanup that extends the entire 3,000-mile length of the Ohio River. Volunteers from the six states, which border the Ohio River, remove litter at multiple locations along the Ohio River and many of its tributaries. Clermont County will be hosting two staging locations for this event: the Moscow boat ramp and the New Richmond bandstand. Funding for these local cleanups come from the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission, the Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

The original event date of Saturday May 14, 2022 has been canceled due to unfavorable conditions. A new event date has yet to be determined.

If you are interested in participating bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty and pitch in! Trash bags and a limited number of gloves will be provided. Each volunteer will also receive a free T-shirt. Contact Penny at Ohioriversweep@gmail.com to register or for more information.
